Pristine Bullet

Darrell C. Tomlinson walked out of an elevator with a stretcher on the ground floor of Parkland Memorial Hospital.  An intern had to move the stretcher in order to access the men's restroom. Once Mr. Tomlinson moved the stretcher back against the wall a bullet fell out onto the ground. The bullet was wedged underneath the mattress of the stretcher. It was never clearly established that either of the victims had lain on the stretcher. ("Testimony of Darrell C. Tomlinson", n.d.)

The pristine bullet has no reliable connection with the assassination of President Kennedy because its pristine condition would make it impossible to cause wounds to both the President and the Governor. Connally had wounds to his hand and leg that were due to fragments of the bullet shooting off after going through his chest. If bullet fragments had hit Connally there is no way that the bullet on the stretcher could have been the bullet that shot Kennedy and Connally (Aguilar & Thompson, n.d.). We believe that the bullet was placed on the stretcher by the government to coax Americans to believe the magic bullet theory. They set up an simulation shot of the assassination and found that the bullet was in a complete different condition than the pristine bullet found on the stretcher (U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).

Three Shots Fired

Most critics believed that Connally was positioned straight in front and at the same height as Kennedy. After later examining their positions investigators came to understand that Connally was positioned about six inches to the left of Kennedy. Connally was also was sitting on a jump seat that was positioned about three inches lower than President Kennedy. After knowing the new position of Governor Connally it is safe to assume that a single bullet hit both Kennedy and Connally.  ("JFK Assassination Magic Bullet Computer Recreation", 2007)

Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the assassination of J.D. Tippit and President Kennedy 45 minutes after Kennedy was shot. The Warren Commission stated that Oswald had acted alone and supposedly fired three shots within 5.6 seconds (Zirbel, n.d.). After much research experts found that it would have been impossible for Oswald to fire three shots within 5.6 seconds with his skill level. Oswald was in the Marines four years before the assassination of President Kennedy and was trained in rifle shooting. Although Oswald was trained he never received good scores on his marksmanship. Oswald had barely passed his test with only one point to spare (“Was Oswald an Expert Marksman?” n.d.).

There are many witnesses saying that they heard one of the three shots come from the Grassy Knoll area in front and to the right of President Kennedy. After reviewing the film we can easily conclude that when Kennedy was shot the second time his head moved back and to the left. This easily leads us to believe that the fatal shot was fired from the front and to the right of Kennedy, directly where the Grassy Knoll is said to be. If there was a shooter in the Grassy Knoll this would solve the problem of three shots within 5.6 seconds. It would also explain why the wound in Kennnedy's neck was clean and appeared to be an enterance wound, while the wound in the back of Kennedy's head was big and jagged. The wound of the back of Kennedy's head appeared to be an exit wound. Many witnesses explained that they saw shadows coming from the Grassy Knoll and also saw the gun smoke after a bullet was shot. (Organ, 2000)

After investigators viewed the Zapruder Film they noticed that the first shot that was fired seemed to have missed President Kennedy and Connally. After viewing frame by frame there had seemed to be one initial shot before the shot that went through kennedy's shoulder that missed the car entirely. It is believed that the first initial shot hit a metal traffic light and ricocheted hitting the pavement to the left of the limousine. (Scearce, 2007)

Government Involvement

After the disaster of the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and along with other anti-Castro operations, there were many within the government who came to very much dislike President Kennedy. Therefore, there were plenty of motives for his assassination (The CIA and the JFK Assassination). Rejecting the government’s plan to attack U.S. citizens, stating that he would “splinter the CIA into a Thousand Pieces,” and his plan to pull out of Vietnam turned many people, even his own vice president, against him (Erickson, R.J.).

Lyndon Johnson:

Lyndon Johnson, the vice president to JFK, was believed to be involved with the assassination of President Kennedy. During the motorcade Johnson was seen ducking down in his car before any shots were fired. How could he have possibly known to duck if he hadn't been in on it the entire time? There is also a photo of Congressman Albert Thomas winking at Johnson during the ceremony of him being sworn in as president. LBJ was smiling the entire time, while standing next to a grieving Jackie Kennedy (Clancy, Michael).

Confessions:

Through the years, individuals with government backgrounds have confessed information regarding the JFK Assassination. A former CIA agent, E. Howard Hunt, died and left behind a confession tape. In this recording, he claimed to have knowledge of a plot to kill President Kennedy. He wasn't directly involved, but described himself as a “benchwarmer” in the plan. After a night of drinking, David Morales, Chief of Operations at the JMWAVE station in Florida, stated in a conversation about Kennedy with Ruben Carbajal and Bob Walton “Well, we took care of that son of a bitch, didn't we?” Along with others, these confessions develop questions of wither government figures planned and were a part of the JFK Assassination (The CIA and the JFK Assassination).

Records:

The JFK Collection of CIA files are held at the Nation Archives. They number to about half a million pages. They fall into sub-collections, focusing on a certain aspect of the investigation, such as: Oswald 201 file, Segregated Collection, Russ Holmes Work File, etc. While many files are available, there are approximately 1100 assassination documents being withheld by the CIA. Could these records contain information that directly connects people within the CIA to the JFK Assassination? If not, what do they have to hide (The CIA and the JFK Assassination)?

Missing People and Evidence:

Immediately after the President was assassinated, all of the films of JFK’s motorcade from those in the crowd were confiscated by government agents and never seen again. Regis Kennedy, an FBI agent that took part in the confiscation of the home movies, was selected to explain the disappearance of the videos. He was murdered on the day he was to testify. He would not be the last one to die as witness to the assassination (Erickson, R.J.). Over 200 people that were located near the grassy knoll that claimed to have smelled gunpowder, seen smoke, and/or heard gunshots and could have testified and confirmed what had happened mysteriously died or were murdered (Grassy Knoll Witnesses).

Assassination of Oswald:

Lee Harvey Oswald had connections with almost every group that had motives for wanting President Kennedy dead, which included individuals with government positions. A few weeks before the assassination of JFK, Oswald started working in the Texas Book Depository. This just so happened to be one of the best sniping points in Dallas. This was obviously no coincidence. It was also believed that at the time of the assassination, Oswald was being paid $200 a month by the government. It was said that he had been assigned an informant number, but no one could explain why. There were obviously important government figures pulling strings to not only pay Oswald, but to insure him a job that would put him in the most ideal place for the assassination (Erickson, R.J.). However, he was simply just a tool used to kill the president. He was the one that took the blame; he was the fall guy (Clancy, Michael). Once his job was done, he was no longer needed. He was murdered by Jack Ruby. Ruby had been caught stalking Oswald. There was a series of twelve photos taken by Phillip Willis. He commented that one of the men in the photo “looks so much like Jack Ruby, Oswald’s soon to be assassin, it’s pitiful.” The Commission didn't take any interest in these photos, but when they were published they were cropped so that the face no longer showed. Was the government covering for Ruby (Erickson, R.J.)?

Destruction of Records and Loss of Evidence:

No one know for sure how many records concerning the JFK Assassination were destroy as well as evidence. Many files, including drafts of Cmdr. James Humes’ autopsy notes, have been lost. Evidence such as Kennedy’s brain, autopsy photos, and tissue slides have gone missing as well. How could such significant evidence simply disappear if it were not for people that had government backgrounds that were trying to cover their tracks (Destruction of Records)?
